A wearable guest credential that matches the property's system
An RFID hotel wristband carries the same kind of contactless chip as a hotel key card, in a band a guest can wear to the pool, the spa or a resort's activity zones without a pocket. It works exactly like the card: the lock or terminal reads the chip and its own software decides what to allow. The important consequence is that the property's installed equipment, not the band, decides which chip goes inside. Order the wristband around the lock and cashless system, and the band material and size around the guest.

The lock decides the chip
Most hotel room locks are 13.56 MHz systems that accept a defined chip family. Some read only a card's or wristband's serial number; others authenticate with keys held in the lock. A frequency rating alone does not confirm compatibility, so the chip has to be the one the lock vendor specifies. Material, fit and water
- Fabric with a TPU head: an elastic woven band with a soft encapsulated inlay, comfortable for a multi-day stay and easy to brand.
- Silicone: a sealed, waterproof band for pools, spas and water parks; debossed or printed and offered with a closed loop or an adjustable closure. Confirm any specific water or immersion rating your venue requires rather than assuming one.
- Closure: choose a reusable closure for members and repeat guests, or a one-way lock where a band must stay with one person for the length of a stay or a day pass.
- Fit: specify adult or child sizing and the length of wear so the proposed band and closure suit the guest.

Hygiene, reuse and durability
Decide early whether bands are single-stay or reusable, because it changes the closure and the marking. A single-stay band takes a one-way lock and is cut off and discarded at checkout; a reusable band for a members' club or a returning-guest programme takes an adjustable closure and a debossed logo that survives repeated cleaning. Silicone wipes down for reuse, which suits pools and spas, while a fabric band is usually treated as single-stay. Match the sizing to your guest mix, including child sizes for family resorts, and keep a percentage of spares for replacements at the front desk.

Which chip do hotel wristbands use?
The one the installed lock or point-of-sale system specifies. Most hotel systems are 13.56 MHz and accept a defined chip family such as MIFARE Classic, Plus or DESFire; some legacy readers use 125 kHz proximity. A frequency rating alone does not confirm compatibility, so match the exact chip and encoding the property's equipment expects.
Are the wristbands waterproof for pools and spas?
Silicone bands with a sealed inlay are made for wet areas and are used at pools, spas and water parks. If your venue requires a specific immersion or ingress rating, tell us so the construction can be confirmed rather than assumed, and test a sample in the actual conditions.
Can a guest use the band for room entry and cashless spending?
Yes, when the band's chip is accepted by both the door lock and the cashless platform, and both are encoded for the stay. The band only identifies the guest; the door permission and the charge to the folio are decided by the property's systems, so confirm both accept the chosen chip.
Can we brand the wristbands and add numbers?
Yes. Bands are offered with UV printing, laser-engraved numbering and colour choices for zoning guests or activities. Encoding for the selected chip is available so bands arrive ready for the front-desk workflow. Approve a printed sample before the production run.
Do the wristbands replace our lock or payment system?
No. The wristband is a credential only. It does not include the lock, the reader or the cashless software, which come from your access-control and point-of-sale providers. We supply the band with the matching chip and encoding.
