Standards we operate under

Quality system — ISO 9001:2015 certified. Air-interface — ISO/IEC 14443 (HF), ISO/IEC 15693 (vicinity), ISO/IEC 18000-6C (UHF Gen2).

What ships in the documentation pack

Commercial invoice + packing list (chip family, SKU, encoding lot per line). Certificate of Origin per destination market.

Quality system certifications

ISO 9001:2015 is the foundation. Other system certifications are added when a buyer program requires them (Sedex, BSCI, RBA, ISO 14001 environmental, ISO 27001 information security). The list below reflects what we currently maintain or have audited within the last two years.

  • ISO 9001:2015 — Quality management system, current certificate on file. Recertification cycle and certifying body publicly traceable.
  • ISO 14001 — Environmental management, available on request for programs that require it.
  • Sedex SMETA / BSCI — Social compliance audits accommodated on a per-program basis when buyers require them.
  • RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) — Code of Conduct alignment with electronics-industry social and environmental standards.
  • GDPR / data protection — When personalization data is processed (key diversification, customer-specific encoding), we operate under buyer-provided data processing agreements.

Air-interface and protocol standards

Every Proud Tek SKU is built to a published air-interface standard — we do not ship 'compatible' inlays that read only on a specific reader brand. This is the basis for reader-fleet interoperability across deployment lifetimes.

HF — ISO/IEC 14443

13.56 MHz proximity cards and tags. Type A (MIFARE Classic / Plus / DESFire / Ultralight / NTAG) and Type B (CIPURSE, ePassport) supported.

Vicinity — ISO/IEC 15693

13.56 MHz longer-range cards and labels (ICODE SLIX, ICODE SLIX2, M24LR). Most library and asset-tracking deployments run on this.

UHF — ISO/IEC 18000-6C / EPC Gen2

860-960 MHz EPC Gen2 / Gen2v2 inlays — UCODE 8/9, Monza 4/R6/M7xx, Higgs-3/4/9/EC, Quanray QY9300. RAIN RFID Alliance interoperable.

LF — ISO/IEC 11784/11785

125 kHz / 134.2 kHz low-frequency tags. EM4200 / 4305, T5577, HID Prox-compatible inlays for legacy access-control retrofits.

NFC Forum — Type 2, Type 4, Type 5

NTAG 213/215/216/424 DNA, MIFARE DESFire / Ultralight, ICODE SLIX — NDEF compliant, tested against NFC Forum reference devices.

Industry-specific encoding

GS1 EPC Tag Data Standard 2.3, ISO/IEC 15962 (RFID data protocol), AIM Global URI templates, Auburn ARC inlay performance specifications.

Material and substance compliance

Material declarations are filed by SKU and chip family. Renewals follow the public regulatory update cycle for each region; SVHC list updates from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) trigger an internal review within 30 days of publication.

  • RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU + 2015/863 amendment) — full compliance for all SKUs sold into EU markets; declarations on file.
  • REACH SVHC — Substances of Very High Concern declarations updated within 30 days of ECHA list revisions.
  • California Prop 65 — declarations on file for SKUs sold into California; warning-label support available when required.
  • Conflict minerals — CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template) available for buyers under SEC Dodd-Frank Section 1502 compliance.
  • Halogen-free / PVC-free options — recycled-PVC and PVC-free substrate stocks available on request.
  • Battery Regulation 2023/1542 — supporting documentation for tags containing batteries (active RFID, BLE beacons).

Radio approvals by destination market

Radio approval is per-device-per-market. The list below covers what we maintain or process for current customers. New market approvals (e.g., ANATEL Brazil, IFETEL Mexico, NCC Taiwan, SRRC China) are scoped per program when relevant.

What is commonly assumed

  • Inlays from China can ship into any market — no extra paperwork needed.
  • FCC and CE are equivalent and one covers the other.
  • Test reports are 'available somewhere' but not part of the shipment.
  • Radio approvals apply to the chip, not the finished product.
  • Approval cost is a per-shipment overhead the buyer absorbs.

How Proud Tek actually handles it

  • Each destination market needs its own approval — FCC (US), CE (EU), MIC (Japan), CCC (China), ANATEL (Brazil), etc.
  • FCC Part 15 and CE EN 300 330 / EN 302 208 are independent regulatory regimes with different test methods.
  • Certificate of Conformity ships with every order; full test report available on request.
  • Approval is per finished device; antenna and substrate matter. We submit per-SKU when required.
  • We absorb baseline market-approval cost; specialty markets (e.g., ANATEL) priced into the program if applicable.

Regional regulatory readiness

Two pieces of EU legislation that are reshaping the RFID supply chain are the EU Digital Product Passport (under Ecodesign Regulation 2024/1781, rolling out from 2026) and the Battery Regulation 2023/1542. We track both closely because our customer base is heavily weighted toward EU-bound programs.

  • EU DPP — NTAG 213/215/216/424 DNA NFC inlays and UCODE 8/9 UHF inlays meet the air-interface and memory requirements anticipated by ESPR delegated acts.
  • EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 — Technical files for RFID-tagged industrial and EV batteries supported; QR + NFC dual-encoding available.
  • GS1 Digital Link — URI-formatted EPC encoding for products that need to resolve to a brand-owner web endpoint.
  • Walmart RFID source-tagging mandate — Auburn ARC-graded UHF inlays for Walmart category programs.
  • USDA / FDA traceability — RFID solutions for food and pharmaceutical lot tracking compatible with FSMA 204 and DSCSA requirements.
  • FCC IDs and CE technical files — maintained per SKU and provided as part of the documentation pack.

Third-party certified test reports

When a program requires third-party attestation beyond our internal QA, we route the test through one of the major laboratories. Lead time and cost vary by certification scope; we absorb baseline cost as part of annual-volume agreements when justified.

  • TÜV Rheinland — full-spectrum electrical, mechanical and material certification.
  • SGS — material composition (RoHS / REACH), radio compliance, factory audits.
  • Intertek — quality assurance, social compliance, Sedex SMETA audits.
  • Bureau Veritas — supply-chain audits, regulatory advisory, factory inspection.
  • Auburn University RFID Lab — independent UHF inlay performance grading (ARC).
  • Customer-named laboratory — testing routed through a buyer-specified lab when program requires it.

FAQ

Can we get a copy of your ISO 9001 certificate before placing an order?

Yes. Current ISO 9001:2015 certificate is shared with qualified buyers on request. The certificate lists the certifying body, the certification scope and the recertification cycle — buyers can verify the certificate number directly with the certifying body.

Are your radio approvals 'self-declared' or are they third-party tested?

Radio approvals follow each market's regulatory regime. FCC IDs are filed with the Commission and verifiable in the public FCC ID database. CE Declaration of Conformity is supported by EU Notified Body test reports for the specific modulation modes and antenna designs. We can route certified third-party test reports (TÜV, SGS) on request.

How does your REACH SVHC declaration stay current?

ECHA publishes SVHC list updates twice yearly. Our compliance team monitors the publication cycle and refreshes per-SKU declarations within 30 days of any update that affects our material stack. Buyers can request the current declaration at any time.

Do you support Walmart RFID source-tagging compliance?

Yes. We manufacture Auburn ARC-graded UHF inlays for Walmart-mandate category programs. Buyers receive ARC grading documentation and SGTIN-96 encoding per GS1 EPC TDS 2.3 standard. Walmart Retail Link RFID Supplier Enablement Sandbox testing is supported as part of program ramp-up.

Are your products RoHS, REACH and Prop 65 compliant for both the US and EU markets?

Yes. RoHS (2011/65/EU + 2015/863) compliance covers all SKUs by default. REACH SVHC declarations are filed per SKU. California Prop 65 declarations are filed for SKUs sold into California. Buyers receive the per-SKU declarations as part of the shipment documentation pack.

What if my buyer requires a certification you do not currently hold?

Mention it on the initial inquiry. We have routed Sedex SMETA, BSCI, RBA, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and various customer-specific certifications for established programs. Lead time and cost depend on the certification scope; for high-volume annual programs we typically absorb the baseline cost.
