Closed-ecosystem credential
LEGIC Cards
Cards & Keyfobs for LEGIC Access Platforms
Quick answer
LEGIC cards and keyfobs are credentials for the Swiss LEGIC access-control ecosystem - a closed 13.56 MHz platform widely deployed in European corporate, campus and leisure facilities. Supplied blank-personalized with your artwork when you confirm the platform generation your readers run.
- One ecosystem, strict compatibility: LEGIC tokens work with LEGIC-licensed readers only - they are not MIFARE-compatible - so we confirm your platform generation before quoting, not after delivery.
- Cards, keyfobs and wearables in one credential family: standard CR80 cards and matching keyfobs for mixed token estates under one LEGIC installation.
- Factory-direct from Proud Tek: card body, printing and serialization handled in-house - MOQ 500 per token type with written quotes and lead times held before tooling.

LEGIC cards - what they are and who needs them
LEGIC is not a chip you can buy on the open market and drop into any reader - it is a closed credential ecosystem from Swiss vendor LEGIC Identsystems. A LEGIC card is a token that carries a LEGIC credential, and it only works on readers licensed for that platform.
That closed design is the whole point - and the buying trap. European corporate campuses, universities and fitness chains built on LEGIC readers need LEGIC tokens, and those tokens cannot be swapped for a generic MIFARE card. If your facility runs LEGIC readers, you order LEGIC tokens; if you are building a new system, an open MIFARE/DESFire platform gives you more supplier choice - and we will say so plainly.
The practical test before you order: ask your facility or security manager which LEGIC platform your readers run. Token availability and encoding options depend on that answer, and we confirm it before quoting rather than after delivery.
Where LEGIC estates are common
- European corporate campuses and office towers standardized on LEGIC readers - new badges and replacement tokens keep that estate running.
- Universities and research campuses with multi-department LEGIC installations.
- Fitness and leisure chains issuing mixed card + keyfob token sets under one membership system.
- Hotel and co-working properties running LEGIC Connect for mobile credentials alongside physical tokens.
What we supply
- LEGIC platform cards in CR80 PVC/composite with your artwork, numbering and serialization.
- Matching keyfobs for users who prefer pocket tokens over badges.
- Blank-personalized supply keyed to your encoding process, or encoding support coordinated with your integrator.
- MOQ 500 per token type; every quote confirms MOQ and lead time in writing before tooling.
Ordering checklist - confirm before you request a quote
- Your reader estate's LEGIC platform generation (Prime-era vs Advant) - one question to your facility manager saves a wasted batch.
- Token mix: cards only, keyfobs only, or both under one artwork.
- Print spec: artwork file, personalization fields (numbering, QR, photo), and any signature panel.
- Delivery date requirement, confirmed in writing before tooling.

FAQ
Are LEGIC cards the same as MIFARE cards?
No. Both run at 13.56 MHz, but LEGIC is its own closed ecosystem with its own protocol and reader licensing. A MIFARE card does not work on a LEGIC reader and vice versa. If your readers are LEGIC, order LEGIC tokens; dual-technology cards exist for mixed estates and we can advise case by case.
Can you supply cards for our existing LEGIC system?
Yes - provided you confirm the platform generation your readers run. Send us the reader model or a photo of an existing card and we will match the token type before quoting. MOQ 500 per token type with written lead times.
Do LEGIC cards work with smartphone mobile keys?
The platform's mobile extension is LEGIC Connect, which issues credentials to smartphones through the LEGIC ecosystem. Physical cards and mobile credentials are managed on the same platform; your integrator configures the mobile side.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
500 pieces per token type, consistent with our other smart cards. Every quote confirms MOQ and lead time in writing before tooling starts.
