What a water park actually asks of a wristband
A water park is the most hostile environment a credential sees in commercial RFID: a full season of chlorine and sunlight, guests in and out of water all day, and a lost-token rate no office badge program can imagine. The wristband has to survive all three while staying readable on the first tap.

Are RFID wristbands actually waterproof?
The bands we supply for pool venues are sealed silicone or PVC with the chip and antenna enclosed in the band - daily submersion is their designed environment. We deliberately do not quote generic IP ratings we have not tested for your exact use; ask for our pool-program references and we will spec the construction explicitly.
What happens when a guest loses the band?
The deposit model handles it: the guest pays a small band deposit at entry, and the wallet stays on the park system - staff issue a replacement band and re-associate the wallet, then refund the deposit when the original is returned. Losses become an operating cost line, not a payment incident.
RFID or barcode bracelets for a water park?
Barcodes fade and fail when wet - a wet printed QR code is unreadable at exactly the moment guests want to tap. RFID reads through water droplets on the band surface without line-of-sight alignment, which is why cashless water parks have consolidated on RFID.
